| HOME CARE & EMERGENCIES |
|
| Each orthodontic patient will be provided with a home care kit which will include an automatic flosser and specialized orthodontic brushes to brush the braces, and clean your gums. A video will be provided at the time of placement of the orthodontic separators to explain how to properly care for the orthodontic appliances. Also, information on proper nutrition and foods to avoid during orthodontic treatment will be given to you. A review of how the orthodontic appliances work and the different parts of the orthodontic braces will be described to you and a pamphlet will be given to you to indicate which parts are which in your mouth. Should you have a broken appliance, you need to contact the office and determine if an emergency visit is necessary or if you can keep your regular appointment and have the appliance repaired at the time of your regular adjustment. |

| Injuries to the teeth or gums resulting in appliance breakage or gum/cheek irritation will need to be treated on an emergency basis and you should contact our office so that we may take care of you. You will be given wax to put over appliance that may stick you and therefore, smooth the area until you are able to get in for the emergency adjustment. |
